Bangalore is mystical, India's great melting pot. One of India's most desirable cities for working professionals, entrepreneurs, families, travellers, and others. Late nights at breweries, clubs, and restaurants, Sunday mornings at Cubbon Park, museum hopping throughout the city- there's something for everyone. Bangalore is known around the world as India's Silicon Valley, a haven for start-ups and innovation. Today, however, we are working to establish this utopia city as a culinary destination for all gastronomes.

B stands for beer, and B stands for Bengaluru. Bengaluru, a vibrant city, is well known for its pub culture. Bengaluru's various watering holes take pride in giving their customers a good time. The spirits baron Vijay Mallya established the headquarters for India's most prominent beer company, 'The UB Group,' which is known for its famous Indian beer, 'Kingfisher,' in Bengaluru. However, with the introduction of microbreweries in India over the last decade or so, Bangalore has lived up to its reputation as a beer-loving city. It has surpassed all other cities to become India's brewery capital.

So I went to Roxie Sarjapur Road, a colonial-style establishment with a stone-clad bar, an open courtyard, plush, comfortable seating, and plenty of greenery. We avoided beer in favour of cocktails like the Camomilia (gin, chamomile, basil, mint, lime, and quinine) and Midnight Fantasy (gin, blue pea cordial, quinine). Both drinks were soothing and refreshing after a long drive across town. The cocktails were paired with their signature appetisers, the most decadent of which was the Korean Garlic Bread (pull-apart brioche bun with a filling of Philadelphia cream cheese and garlic butter). This one is truly addictive, as it is soft, buttery, creamy, sweet, and salty all at the same time. The Riccardos Caprese, a brioche slice topped with roasted cherry tomatoes, baby rocket leaves, and balsamic reduction, is a unique take on the classic Caprese salad. Roxie's Signature Omelette is also recommended (rolled omelette with a filling of prawn, crab, bacon or mushroom). I tried the Hargao and Truffle Mushroom dim sums, as well as the Edamame dim sum. Both were delicately flavoured and perfectly executed.

The Confit Chicken and Fire Cracker Salmon were our main courses. The former, cooked in olive oil, is memorable for its buttery, melt-in-your-mouth texture, whereas the salmon, marinated in Asian spices and grilled to perfection, was a winner. The extensive menu, which includes cuisines from all over the world, as well as the added edge of craft beers on tap, make this a great spot for long lunches, date nights, and family dinners. This restaurant comes highly recommended and is a new addition to the list of your favourite places.
